Getting to know Mr. Clarke:
I earned my high school diploma from York Suburban High School where I was apart of the cross country team all four years. I earned my undergraduate degree in Chemistry Education from the University of Delaware where I was apart of the Men's Rowing Club for three years and the head coach for one year. I earned my master's degree from Wilmington University. I choose to become a teacher because of the influence my chemistry teacher had on me in high school and because of a few positive experiences I had tutoring peers while attending the University of Delaware. I enjoy working with teenagers who have a positive attitude and are intrinsically motivated to learn. I am very happily married and have a daughter. I enjoy rowing, gardening, home improvement projects, and spending time with family and friends.
My promise to my students:
Every student with good attendance, a good attitude, and a good work ethic every time they come to my class WILL pass the class for the year! Whether or not that final grade is an A, B, C, or D will depend on the individual students academic apptitude.
Getting extra help:
It is important to understand that everyone learns at their own pace. As a result when the majority of students have a grasp on the current concept(s) being taught in class, I must move on to the next topic. If you are learning at a slower pace and have not grasped the concept when we move on, it is your responsibility to make an appointment with me (usually after school) that we can work together one on one to help you understand the concept. If this is not possible for any reason, it is your responsibility to find help through a peer, another teacher, internet research, or a tutor.
Contact information:
The fastest and most reliable way to get a hold of me is e-mail: [email protected]
My classroom voicemail is not reliable, but if you do not have e-mail you may try calling and leaving a message. My phone will not ring when someone from outside the school building calls, you will be directed to voicemail. My number is (302) 631-5600 x15420
